Trainee for the digital transformation of Allianz Group

I joined Allianz Group as a master student in the field of international business. I have written my Master thesis about user context-sensitive mobile services with apps at Allianz’s internal IT service provider; named Allianz Managed Operations and Services SE (AMOS SE). Convinced by the digitalization initiatives and working atmosphere at AMOS SE, I decided to continue my professional career within the Allianz Group. This led me from research intern over working student to a trainee in the area of business transformation in less than 9 months.

Being a Trainee for the digital transformation of Allianz Group is a daring experience!

Both, AMOS SE as well as our trainee program definitely present a home for those who dare because they offer an agile working environment for pro-active, envisioning and innovative people. What does this mean for the trainee experience? The AMOS SE trainee program is quite flexible and individually designed depending on your educational background and your individual strengths and interests. Besides, you have the opportunity to get insights in three IT-related areas, you benefit from the support of a business mentor, develop your personal skills through special trainings and broaden your horizon on an international assignment. In a nutshell: It is up to you and what you want to achieve within 1.5 years. If you dare to go far, the trainee program gives you the chance to do so!

For instance, you may seek your professional challenge in one of many digitalization projects at AMOS SE. For my first rotation, I support the global roll-out of Allianz Connect which is Allianz’s new social intranet solution. Exciting for me is to see how we enable collaboration and interaction among Allianz employees worldwide. Allianz Connect offers a digital workplace for discussion, teamwork and knowledge management. Moreover it also aims at spanning a network amongst Allianz employees who are encouraged to share their interests or ideas on our platform.

It’s the Allianz corporate culture which enables you to be daring.

From my point of view, the Allianz corporate culture values pro-active behavior and an open mindset, which in turn also encourages people to dare something at their everyday work. From day one, I experienced strong support from my colleagues and managers for my work, ideas and suggestions. Moreover, at Allianz diversity is embraced not only through respect for different cultures, but also individual personalities. This is certainly a great accelerator of innovativeness and creativity. Lastly, I was surprised by the social initiatives that the Group supports. For instance, at AMOS SE 100 hours of working time were donated to help local refugee initiatives. Overall, I believe that this kind of corporate culture really contributes to making Allianz a home for those who dare.

Trainee at Allianz Managed Operations and Services SE

Daniela Kuenstle works as a trainee for Allianz Managed Operations and Services SE (AMOS SE) in the area of business transformation. She started at AMOS SE as a master student and wrote her thesis on mobile services within apps. Due to her studies on culture and business, she has a strong interest in the interplay of humans and technology. This includes the question how digitalization enables new ways of interaction such as in telematics, social networks or mobile apps.
